Who am I?
Welcome to Lifestyle Inspirations by Nancy. I’m Nancy! A registered dietitian nutritionist, health coach, and personal trainer all rolled in to one! I have a bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science and a Master’s of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Nutrition. Additionally, I am certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and also have a Behavior Change Specialist certification from ACE. I have completed a 1200 hour dietetic internship and currently work as an outpatient dietitian. I am also trained to be a Health Coach and a Functional & Integrative Nutrition Practitioner – both areas I am studying to take certification exams to obtain additional credentialing. It’s really about You!
I am in the health and wellness field because I want to help others help themselves. What do I mean by that? I want to give you the tools you need to help yourself get healthy for good. What you will learn may help you to manage or reverse chronic health conditions. I also want to prevent those illnesses within myself and believe walking the talk is be the best way for me to do that. Being active in sports growing up sparked my interest in the exercise and fitness world and gave me the push to pursue a career in health sciences. Soon I realized though, that exercise alone, was not enough for someone to be healthy. Nutrition and physical activity go hand in hand. Through my career I have realized that good nutrition and adequate physical activity can only do so much without additionally managing mental well-being. I now incorporate mindfulness in my full-time job and plan to sprinkle it in through my blog and weight loss courses for you as well.
My goal for you, my reader, is to gain a deeper understanding of healthy lifestyles and find practical ways to implement the knowledge you will learn from my blog into your daily life. Topics will range from eating healthy on a budget to weight loss tips that actually work to following an anti-inflammatory nutrition plan to managing stress and more! I am here to support you as you continue on your health journey. I want to be here for you, if there is a health related topic that you would like to learn more about, please let me know! If I am unable to incorporate it into my blog I can at least point you in the right direction.
